Principal Mineral Economist, Denver, Colorado

My client is an international firm of specialist consultants who focus mainly on the mining industry. We employ over 750 professionals in 36 offices on six continents.  

We are seeking an experienced mineral economist/mineral appraiser for our Denver office. The successful candidate will have:

BS in Mining or Mineral Processing (mineral economist).
MBA and/or Certified Mineral Appraiser a plus.
Demonstrated leadership and managerial experience.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Long-term commitment to company growth
At least 7 years of experience in cost estimating
Understanding of open pit and underground mining methods, as well as extractive metallurgical technologies.
Experience in Technical/Economic Modeling
Extensive knowledge of the precious and base metals industries

The successful candidate will consult on projects for North American and international clients and will be involved in strategic planning, M&A and funding advisory services, and risk assessments.  This skill set will allow the performance of corporate and project evaluations and valuations, fairness opinions, debt and equity analysis, as well as structured finance and IPO/RTO advice.

In addition to technical issues, the successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain client relationships, and work in a team environment. This position requires strong networking and communications skills, ability to multi task and sound interpersonal capabilities are essential. While based in Denver, it is expected that the candidate will, at times, work with personnel in all of  global offices.  Domestic and international travel will be required.
